Going for the gold with Coin World

Coin World leads efforts for coinage redesign in the 1980s
• September's Coin World Special Edition all about gold
• Ladies' Day at the ANA...in 1965
• "Little gold" makes a big difference!
• Liberty's changing portrait

As this installment of Coin World's newsletter appears in your inbox, the American Numismatic Association World's Fair of Money coin convention is going full swing in Boston. With thousands of collectors, auction lots and millions of dollars worth of coins trading hands, it is perhaps the annual event for the coin hobby.

But our minds here at Coin World are all about gold. The September Special Edition is all about it! It has been an especially fun issue to put together, because gold lends itself to great photos, great stories and amazing coins.

This month we look at Coin World's role in the coinage redesign movement of the 1980s, look back at the collecting hobby in 1965, preview the upcoming issue of Coin World's Coin Values and continue our three-part article on the different concepts of Liberty on U.S. coins.

Happy collecting!
